What are Houses?

In order to foster a culture of positivity and praise, 5th grade is implementing a new HOUSE points system.

Your child will be assigned to one of our houses (
Amistad, Reveur, Isibindi, or Altruismo)! Each HOUSE represents a different character trait and will also create a sense of community for each of our fifth graders prior to embarking on their next phase of education.

The House of AMISTAD = FRIENDSHIP

Amistad is characterized by friendship and those who belong to this house believe in working as a team to achieve it all!

                              Amistad

The House of REVEUR - DREAMERS

Reveur is characterized by being dreamers. Those who belong to this house dream BIG and don’t stop until those visions of come true!

                               Reveur

The House of ISIBINDI = COURAGE

Isibindi is characterized by their courage. Those in the House of Isibindi are brave enough to never give up!

                               Isibindi

The House of ALTRUISMO = GIVERS

Alturismo is characterized by their ability to give. Those in the House of Alturismo are known to give it their all to become successful!

                                Altruismo

House Meetings:

Students will meet together with their house to bond in various ways to continue to build their community. They will be responsible for working on their step/chant routines for Friday, discuss their week, etc.

Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, teachers will eat lunch with their students, allowing students to also eat with their house. Teachers will encourage students to sit by somebody that they normally do not speak with or spent time with before.
